. >>> we're going to turn now to ktvu chief meteorologist bill martin who's been monitoring all of these storms and which places are getting reallily soaked. >> it came down for some time. it was steady and sometime in the afternoon it really started to hammer. take a look at the last few hours and you can see that over the last few hours those oranges and reads down in the santa clara valley that's when it was really coming down. you can see by the oakland area, by skyline boulevard you have some light showers there. some showers down around san leandro we head out toward beach front boulevard near belmont. you see showers there. how about roson avenue getting heavy activity. at least toward campbell. but as we worked our way toward evergreen and san felipe road you see significant rainfall on these bands. you touch on here an we show you rainfall bands at .2 an hour. that's significant rain and you head down toward the corridor and gilroy. they were getting hammered for a time today this evening and now they're getting a little bit of a break. but the rain came down hot and heavy

rain totals and a look at what's to come but we begin with ktvu's jade hernandez in east palo alto where crews try to shore up a levee that gave way, jade. >> reporter: the work continues tonight. this temporary levee hopes to hold the rain until the reconstruction project. but people are unsure with rain expected tomorrow. curtis and his wife left when they saw water bringing tires into yard washing away what was already there. >> we will go through this tomorrow again, you know. >> reporter: with the flood came flood insurance. >> if it does we'll just have to take off and leave again. we can't stay, we have to use common sense. >> reporter: earlier today we spoke to the executive director of joint powers authority. the regional agency made up of three cities and two counties takes care of flood control issues. >> the joint power authority has approved a project that will rebuild the whole levy system. >> reporter: it was easy to see where creek water boiled up on the other side pushing water into the neighborhood. east palo alto's new city manager said with more rain on the way

. reporting live in fremont, matt keller, ktvu. >>> the highway patrol has wrapped up their investigation into a party bus accident that killed a woman. this week chp investigators reported their findings. >> the people that were involved are uncooperative so we had to try to piece things together with you know, without having the cooperation that we needed. >> there is no word on when the da will decide whether or not to file charges. >>> oakland police say a very detailed surveillance video may help catch a trail of burglars who broke into a condo complex. the surveillance video here shows one man that looked straight into the camera. he broke into the complex on adam's point. another shows him walking in with two other men. doesn't appear the trio took anything but residents worry that they'll return. >> the count with opd not being able to respond because they are so overstaffed and it's a super dangerous situation. >> the first man with the neck tattoo has been committing property crimes in the area for quite some time. his face was on a flier that was posted around the neighborhood.
